Astrology Unfiltered: Dylan Barrenhorse on the 2027 Shift & His New Astrocartography App
Human design expert Dylan Barrenhorse joins Jaclyn Joy to discuss the coming 2027 consciousness shift, his new astrocartography app, and what it means to be a 'Sage for the New Age.'
When Dylan Barrenhorse describes himself as a "Human Authority Sage for the New Age," he's not just creating a catchy moniker—he's naming a mission. In the latest episode of Astrology Unfiltered, host Jaclyn Joy sits down with the human design and astrocartography expert for a conversation that spans consciousness shifts, planetary power lines, and what it really means to trust your gut in a world on the verge of massive transformation.
"It's so many new energies and new frontiers that we're being asked to step into every day, every second," Dylan says early in the conversation, his Pisces sun and Capricorn moon evident in the way he balances cosmic vision with grounded pragmatism. "It's completely changing the scale by which I measure what good and bad even are."

What Happens When Humanity Changes Frequencies?
The centerpiece of their exchange revolves around what Dylan calls "the big moment in 2027"—a shift in human design's 412-year cycle that will fundamentally alter consensus reality. "We have been under a 412-year cycle since 1615, roughly," he explains. "The background radio station consensus reality of planet Earth has been tuned to four specific gates out of the 64 gates in the human design system."
That cycle, focused on tribal bargains, resource attainment, and survival strategies, is ending. What comes next? "Self-empowerment," Dylan says. "Enlightened self-interest. Taking the energy you have and doing whatever you can with it to create what will keep you alive—spiritually, intellectually, community-wise."
The stakes, he suggests, are existential: "If you don't, then it'll be chosen for you by someone who did." But there's also profound opportunity. "We're beginning to have literal changes and mutations in the way we perceive ourselves, consciousness," he notes, describing a future where cooperation emerges not from moral imperative but from expanded awareness of our interconnection.
Jaclyn, a 6/2 projector herself, resonates deeply. "We are craving for this old world to end big time," she says, speaking to the projector experience of navigating a generator-dominant paradigm. Dylan confirms: "Projectors are masters of systems... they're here to direct the transition of these massive systems that run our world."
Can Travel Heal Your Lineage?
Mid-conversation, Dylan reveals he just launched something he's been building toward for years: an astrocartography app called map.powermoves.world. For $27, users receive what he calls a "debrief"—a personalized report showing their most powerful planetary lines around the globe, integrated with human design insights.

Jaclyn lights up describing her experience with it: "As soon as I opened it, it was like the warmest coming home in written form." She discovered her highest timeline points to Mexico City—and that her Saturn descendant line runs directly through Sedona, where she's heading to record this very show.
"The big cheat code that I love to put everybody onto is traveling on your birthday," Dylan shares. "The relocated chart that you get on that line... you lock that in for that whole year till your next birthday. If you want to make a conscious edit to how your chart translates into the energy of your life and your opportunities and your experiences, you can do it."
His own journey exemplifies this principle. Living between his Moon and Saturn descendant lines, Dylan has sacrificed ease for choice. "Saturn is tremendously difficult, don't get me wrong," he admits. "But it creates the capacity for choice like no other planet." That Saturn line brought karmic relationships full circle, he says, allowing him to "retrieve those pieces of myself from past incarnations" and "defragment from all the karmic resets and the trauma."
The upcoming book he's writing—an "astrocartography memoir" due November 16th—will chronicle this journey in full. "I use astrocartography and I use travel to literally heal my soul and my lineage," he says. "That's been the journey that I haven't shared as publicly this whole time."

Are We Ready for What's Coming?
Perhaps the most striking moment comes when Dylan addresses what he sees as humanity's greatest obstacle: conditioned insecurity. "That's the thing that these institutions harvest us upon, is our own lack of trust in ourselves to act from our gut," he says. "That is going to be the number one skill to navigate this change—to really trust yourself and get moving."
But he's quick to clarify this isn't about hustle culture or forced action. "If your self isn't going to be doing anything right now, that's fine," he notes. "If your self is 'I'm resting right now,' be yourself. The future isn't going to work from a plan, because the plan is changing, and it's being written in a whole new language that we're going to have to learn as we live it."
He even questions our conditioned concepts of enjoyment itself: "Sometimes that's staying up for 14 hours building something you care about. Sometimes that's doing something you never thought you could to get somewhere you never thought you'd go."
The exchange between these two astrologers—both born in 1990, both carrying Capricorn stelliums, both navigating the threshold period before 2027—crackles with the recognition of kindred spirits on parallel missions. When Jaclyn shares her experience of being in Maui during the Lahaina fire, receiving codes at Mauna Kea crater and watching "the different islands light up with these purple flames," Dylan immediately understands. "That's how strong our genetic coding is," he affirms.
By the end of their time together, Jaclyn admits she felt like she "wanted to smoke a cigarette" with him or "have whiskey next to me"—the conversation had that quality of intimate truth-telling between old souls.
For those feeling the pressure and promise of these transitional times, this episode offers both validation and navigation tools. As Dylan puts it: "Life has things for you. Life wants to give things to you... You have some inheritance just for being here, and it comes in many different forms, but you have to be present to accepting it."
Watch the full episode to dive deeper into human design types, the role of projectors in the new era, raves and the future of consciousness, and Dylan's rapid-fire takes on everything from favorite gates (the 14/2 channel and gate 30) to which planetary lines to avoid (hint: maybe not Pluto). As we approach February 2027, conversations like this one feel less like speculation and more like preparation—a gathering of the ones who've been feeling the shift in their bones, ready to name it, navigate it, and help others do the same.
