When Jaclyn Joy, the self-described "astrologer babe" behind Astrology Unfiltered, planned episode 10 of her podcast, she intended to dive into earth sign wisdom. Instead, at 3:11 in the morning under a potent Aquarius full moon, something interrupted her sleep—and her programming.

"I'm asleep, I have my healing tones on and right at 3:11 in the morning on the dot, I wake up and I'm hearing" what sounded unmistakably like the old AOL internet transmission tones from decades past. "All these alien tones," she recalls, still processing the jolt to her nervous system. The message was clear: it was time to talk about aliens.

Jaclyn Joy opens Astrology Unfiltered with grounding and invocation

What Makes Jaclyn Joy's Approach to Astrology Different?

Jaclyn doesn't just read the charts—she inhabits them. Each episode of Astrology Unfiltered begins with a full embodiment practice: "Feel the four corners of your feet in the ground," she guides listeners from her space in Maui, feet resting on a bath stone that feels good against her skin. "I call upon all of our ancestors, guides, and guardians to be with us in this moment."

Her invocations aren't rote—they're specific, calling energy through "all chakras, all templates, all four levels of belief, all cellular structure, all DNA, all molecular, subatomic, and atomic layers." It's the practice of someone who's been doing this work for years, who was getting her yoga teaching certification at 21 when she had her first unmistakable UFO sighting.

This episode was supposed to follow her fire signs deep-dive with a look at earth signs. But as she explains with characteristic directness: "We have way too much Aquarius energy in the skies for me to not talk about this." Saturn just went retrograde ("daddy time," as she calls him), Venus in Virgo is squaring Mars in Gemini, and that Aquarius full moon is bringing up "the exciting and unexpected."

For Jaclyn, the unexpected arrived as a classic example of Aquarian chaos: "Yesterday, I was invited to be on set for a friend's zombie movie." Covered in fake blood, running through scenes—"That is a classic example of the unpredictable Aquarian energy of these times." Watch the full episode to hear how she connects cosmic transits to lived experience.

What Alien Encounters Has She Actually Had?

There's vulnerability in what Jaclyn shares next, and she knows it. "Not everybody has either been at that level or has this kind of openness to these kinds of experiences, and you don't have to believe what I have to share with you today."

Sharing personal extraterrestrial experiences from childhood to present

But then she tells the stories anyway, starting with being six or seven years old in her dad's car with the skylight: "I saw this disc, and it was like a shadow floating over the top of the treetops." She didn't tell her father. She just knew what she saw.

The encounters escalated. At 21, driving home from Boston to New Jersey on I-95 at one in the morning, in what she describes as a "nirvana state" from her meditation practice: "This massive silver disc with these bright aqua blue lights flew over the highway... floating in tandem with the speed that my car was going, so it felt like it was like the size of like a football field."

She gripped the steering wheel, trying to ground the experience: "I am not making this up. I am seeing this right now." And then—"I saw the ship pivot at 90 degrees and zip off like it was in Star Wars with light trailing behind it like the Jetsons."

When she got home and tried to tell her mother, the response was immediate: "Don't tell me that. I don't want to hear it." But her friend Samantha, who'd been preparing her for such moments, simply texted back: "They only show up when you're ready."

On Maui, where Jaclyn has lived for eight years, the experiences continued and intensified. Balls of fire outside her window at the same time every night during her first week. A massive triangular ship rising over Giggle Hill during a full moon ceremony with friends: "It was changing shape and changing color, and it was, no joke, holographic, so I could see through it. It straight up looked like it was from Back to the Future."

The encounters became frequent enough that she began having "telepathic conversation with the ships in the middle of the night," asking them to back off a bit. "Hey, this is actually really uncomfortable. I don't know what's going on. Could you be a little bit less in my face?"

Why Share This During an Aquarius Full Moon?

For Jaclyn, the timing wasn't coincidental—it was cosmically mandated. "Uranus and Aquarius often rules alien energies," she explains, connecting her personal experiences to the collective moment. "What will be revealed now that the North Node in Western astrology has moved into the sign of Aquarius?"

Pulling oracle cards to close the Aquarius full moon episode

She closes the episode as she opened it—with ritual. Pulling cards from her Charlie Brown tarot deck, she draws the Knight of Wands ("fiery energy, new beginnings") and a card about collaboration and counting blessings. Her red flag astrology warns of the Moon squaring Mars as it moves into Pisces—"a little bit emotional and combative." Her green flag celebrates the creative Leo season energy amplified by the Aquarius moon.

Throughout, Jaclyn holds the space with a rare combination of groundedness and openness. She knows how her stories sound. She offers them anyway, with an invitation: "If you're out there watching and listening to this episode, if you've had similar experiences or you're desiring to connect with different kinds of beings that happen to be out there... I'd love to hear some of your stories as well."

"Astrology Unfiltered creates a bridge between cosmic awareness and everyday human experience," she says in closing, "helping listeners better understand themselves, their emotions, and the energetic patterns shaping their lives."

It's astrology, yes—but filtered through lived experience, 3 AM transmissions, and the willingness to say what happened, even when it sounds impossible. Watch the complete episode to experience Jaclyn's full invocation, storytelling, and oracle guidance for navigating Aquarian times.
