A weekly meditation gathering combines Tesla coil frequencies, vocal toning, and cello guitar soundscapes to amplify collective intention.

Every Friday night at Sedona Quantum Consciousness, something unusual happens: a Tesla coil hums to life, voices rise in toning, and a roomful of meditators settles into silence while electromagnetic frequencies pulse through the space. This is Frequency Friday, a weekly gathering that marries ancient sound healing traditions with cutting-edge consciousness technology—and it's all held together by intention, community, and the understanding that we need each other to thrive.

The BioCharger glows as participants prepare for meditation

What Happens When Tesla Meets Intention?

At the heart of the experience is the BioCharger, a device that uses Tesla coil technology to generate what organizers call "recipes"—specific energetic frequencies designed to support different states of consciousness. "It's sending energy through that, creating a powerful field around us, and amplifying whatever we do as an intention," one participant explained when asked about the technology. "So not only does it affect what we're doing in the room, but it also affects the surroundings around us."

The facilitator for this gathering chose the "violet flame" recipe, a transmutation program designed for "clearing out any dense energies, negative energies, and bringing in a purifying energy into your body and into your being." The session begins with vocal toning—not performance, but practice. "You don't need to sing well at all," the facilitator reassured newcomers. "Sound helps the body get into a parasympathetic state. It helps to reduce any mind chatter that's going on, and that vibration just helps to calm and settle and ground into the body."

Who Holds the Space?

The facilitator speaks with the comfortable authority of someone who's done this many times before, yet remains humble enough to admit when she's stepping outside her usual role. "Bear with me. I don't normally do the vocal toning. That's Mark's job," she shares, referring to her partner who typically leads these gatherings. Her warmth and authenticity create a welcoming container, especially for first-timers navigating unfamiliar territory.

Darren Lee Schaefer prepares his custom cello guitar for the sound bath

Then there's Darren Lee Schaefer, the musician rotating into Frequency Friday to provide the sound bath. When invited to introduce himself, his response is simple: "Not really." The facilitator laughs knowingly and steps in to share his story—how she first heard his music drifting from a café in Fairfax, California, nearly 25 years ago and was stopped in her tracks. "He really is a master of his trade, a master of his instrument, has no ego, hence not wanting to really share much about himself," she explains. "Someone who basically lives in the forest in very deep attunement with nature and with the music, his muse and music and what he gets to create."

His instrument is a custom-made cello guitar, and his presence speaks to a particular kind of mastery—one that requires no announcement.

What Does It Mean to Be a Companion Plant?

The intention set for this gathering draws from an unexpected source: ecology. "In the plant kingdom, in order to have a really healthy ecosystem, the plants actually support each other," the facilitator explains. "So you have companion plants that help fix nitrogen. They produce more blooms. They attract more pollinators. And we're very similar to that as humans. We need support, too, and that celebration."

Participants settle into meditation as frequencies fill the space

The invitation is to think about "having balanced ecosystems within our own small communities, whether that's relationship, family, home, friendships, going out into community." To ask for support when needed. To offer it when you see someone struggling. To celebrate with others. To let people know you care, "and to also ask for that care in return."

After the silent meditation amplified by the BioCharger's frequencies, participants are invited to lie down as Darren's cello guitar fills the room. "Thank you for your service in the quantum field," the facilitator offers before the music begins—an acknowledgment that meditation itself is not passive, but participatory work that ripples outward.

Experience the complete journey and discover what happens when technology, sound, and collective intention converge in service of something larger than individual practice.
