Grand Rising Community Update: Sheela Rahman on Venus Retrograde, Sound Healing, and Sedona's Magnetic Field
Sheela Rahman solo-hosts Grand Rising with breath work, celestial wisdom, and a live monochord demonstration—plus a full lineup of Humankind events.
When Sheela Rahman appears solo on Grand Rising, the weekly community heartbeat of Humankind, she doesn't just announce events—she creates a ceremony of arrival. With co-host Ryan Stober out of town, Sheela holds the space with the ease of someone who knows that presence is the first teaching.
"Let's get grounded and do a couple breaths together," she invites, leading viewers through three rounds of breath—in through the nose, out through the mouth, hands invited to move if they wish. "Woowee! How does that feel, everyone?" The question isn't rhetorical. Sheela is genuinely here, tending the field even through the screen.

What Does Venus Retrograde Ask of Us?
Sheela doesn't shy away from the astrological weather. "This is a pretty big deal," she says of the Venus retrograde transit, "and this is asking all of us to go inside and introspect and ask ourselves, what do I truly desire out of this life?"
Her invitation is both cosmic and practical: write down what magnetizes you. Practice gratitude each morning. "Ask yourself, what are three things I'm grateful for today? Just doing that every morning when you wake up really sets the tone for the rest of the day." It's the kind of guidance that honors both the mystical and the mundane—a hallmark of how Sheela moves through the show.
From there, she walks viewers through a rich calendar of Humankind gatherings: Frequency Friday with BioCharger technology and sound baths, Mission Mondays for group manifestation, Jerome Martin's Light Body Reboot featuring full light language transmission, and the costume-clad Beyond the Veil Halloween workshop with extended ecstatic dance. There's Circo Bizzarro—a Halloween circus experience with an all-vinyl DJ set running until 2 AM—and even the Comedy Basement, because as Sheela puts it, "You got to laugh. You got to have a sense of humor. That's what keeps the vibes high is laughter. The ultimate tool of transmutation for any energy is laughter."

What Wisdom Did the Hathor Material Reveal?
Midway through the show, Sheela shares her "book of the week"—The Hathor Material by Tom Kenyon and Virginia Essene—calling it "one of my favorite books of all time." Her practice with channeled texts is intimate: she asks a question, closes her eyes, and opens to a random page.
The passage she lands on speaks of magnetic fields: "All human forms have a magnetic field, a north pole and a south pole, and the pranic tube or a column that runs through the middle of the body as well." Sheela's interpretation is immediate and embodied: "You know how to be magnetic is to go within, focusing on the internal state of the body and cultivating the intention and attention from within."
A second reading yields this: "The goal is to surrender to love and to the highest possibility in each situation that is presented in one's life and that serves the whole." Sheela offers the teaching simply: tune into your electromagnetic field, and attune to the frequency of love.

How Does Sound Become Medicine?
The final act of the episode is a gift: Sheela introduces her monochord, a handcrafted instrument made by Kelly at Sacred Rites in Sedona. All its strings are tuned to 128 hertz—the note C—creating what she describes as a tool for "internal coherence and healing."

"The way that the monochord works is that all the strings are tuned into the same harmonic," she explains, then strums. The sound is a wash of resonance, hovering and harmonic. She begins to tone—a single sustained note that rides the strings—and for a full minute, the screen becomes a meditation. "You become a human sine tone generator or tuning fork," she says afterward, smiling.
Sheela closes as she began: with presence, with rhythm, with an invitation. "I hope you have such a wonderful and beautiful day full of coherence, full of love, full of presence and awareness of your electromagnetic field." Then she plays the monochord one more time, this time with sticks, tapping out a heartbeat rhythm that carries viewers back into their day.
