How Can Community Ownership Actually Work? Inside Humankind's New NFT & Affiliate System
Brandon unveils a decentralized reward structure where members earn through sharing, events unlock collectible NFTs, and the community itself makes the decisions.
What if the platform you used actually belonged to you? What if sharing an event could pay your rent, and attending a show could unlock tradable digital assets you truly own?
Brandon, founder and architect of Humankind, just pulled back the curtain on a reward ecosystem designed to flip the script on how consciousness communities operate. In a comprehensive walkthrough streamed from the Sedona center, he revealed how the platform's new affiliate program and NFT card system turn participation into prosperity—and put governance in the hands of the people showing up.
"I understand some people, $77 is a lot," Brandon acknowledged early in the session. "But I made it in a way to where if you're able to go out to get two people to sign up for a full membership, your $77 membership is free now."

Who Is Building This—And Why?
Brandon doesn't fit the mold of a typical tech founder. He's a programmer who came up through the discipline of making systems "simple enough that a two-year-old can figure it out," as he puts it. But his motivation runs deeper than clean code.
"It's a DAO, decentralized autonomous organization," he explained. "I happen to know how to do all this stuff, but it's really driven by the community. It's driven by the voting of the community, by interaction, by what we all want to build. It's not just what I want to build."
He holds the room with the energy of someone who's genuinely frustrated by the old systems—and lit up by what's possible. "If we stop using something, it should start going away," he said, describing how corporations buy each other up to stay alive regardless of value. "The same thing should be for businesses. If there was no one here to actually give Humankind energy, it should go away eventually."
That ethos—energy in, value out, community decides—runs through everything he's built. And he's built a lot. The platform includes live streaming, a stay-booking system (like Airbnb for conscious travel), a social network, governance voting, and now: an AI assistant named Ask Humankind that answers questions on astrology, channeling, human design, and how to navigate the site itself.
"Anything that Ask Humankind doesn't know how to answer, it sends it to me, and then I answer it, and then it adds it into its memory bank," Brandon shared. The AI learns. The system evolves. And members don't have to text Brandon at 11 p.m. asking when an event starts.
What Happens When You Actually Participate?
The affiliate program is shockingly generous by industry standards. Free members earn 20% commissions for six months on anyone they refer. Online members ($11/month) get 35% for a year. Full members get 50% for life, as long as both memberships stay active.
"If you get 20 people, you're making about $700 a month on the full membership," Brandon said. One attendee called it "an extremely generous affiliate program" compared to typical marketing structures.

But here's where it gets interesting: sharing content automatically links to your affiliate code. Share a video, an article, a reel from your logged-in account to Facebook or Instagram, and anyone who clicks through and signs up becomes your referral. Brandon even created QR codes members can display at the juice bar or wellness shop.
"You literally hold your phone out, and they can scan it with theirs, and they're automatically linked under your name," one participant realized aloud, eyes wide.
There's a catch, though—a 90-day activation window. Free account sign-ups only stick if they upgrade to paid within three months. "I want to build community," Brandon said. "I don't want to build it to where we just have these people coming in and we're just siphoning money off of them."
How Do NFT Event Cards Actually Work?
The NFT system might sound complex, but Brandon designed it around something everyone already knows: a deck of playing cards.
When you buy a ticket to an approved event (like the upcoming Cirque Bizzarro or Heart Coherence gathering), you receive one NFT card—part of a 54-card deck. Full members get one for every event they register for. You can also buy packs of three or five cards.
Each card corresponds to poker hands. Get a two-pair? Free drink at the bar. Royal flush? A much bigger prize. "The royal flush is across all decks, all events," Brandon clarified. "You can get a two pair from any event. You can get a royal flush from any event."

But the cards do more than unlock prizes. You can trade them peer-to-peer at events. You can sell them in the marketplace. And—this is where artists benefit—every time a card linked to a specific DJ or teacher resells, the artist gets a cut.
"Each one of the DJs, they have three cards in this next deck," Brandon explained. "Every time their card gets sold in the marketplace, they get a piece of that." For solo events like Heart Coherence with Adria, every card in the deck is hers. Residual income for creators, built into the system.
One attendee compared it to baseball cards meeting Pokémon. Another asked about integration with existing crypto wallets. "If you have a MetaMask wallet, you can also link your MetaMask wallet to Humankind," Brandon confirmed. The platform doesn't hold your assets—you do. "Humankind doesn't own your wallet. You create a wallet that is yours, but you're using our system."
The session moved through treasury transparency (coming soon), voting proposals (already live for members), and the vision of Humankind centers around the world—domed gathering spaces where decentralized communities make decisions together.
"We have the world to do it with," Brandon said, talking about tokenization beyond event cards. "I can tokenize your property, and I can fractionalize it to where people own a piece of your property... Pretty much majority of everything that we have in the world will end up being put on the blockchain in some way or another."
But he kept bringing it back to the immediate, the tangible, the usable. "Right now we're just doing it really simple," he said of the card system. "Everybody sort of understands that, two pair, royal flush."
An attendee captured the larger vision: "If it's to be prosperous, it has to flow by definition. It can't be static." Brandon nodded. The 90-day affiliate window. The artist royalties. The DAO governance. It's all designed to reward aliveness—not extraction.
"I want people that really want this to be stepping up and putting in the work," Brandon said near the end. "I wish I had a mountain of money where I can just pay people to do everything I want them to do, but I don't think it's going to be built that way."

The system is live. The cards are minting. And the question Brandon keeps asking is simple: Who's ready to build this with us?
