YOU, UNLIMITED: What Does It Mean to Die to Your Old Self?
Adria Estribou returns from Mount Shasta transformed, exploring the vulnerable space between who we were and who we're becoming in episode 7.
What if transformation doesn't come from leaving behind your brokenness, but from releasing your mastery? In the latest episode of YOU, UNLIMITED, host Adria Estribou shares a strikingly honest admission: "I am not the same as when I spoke to you last."
Fresh from three weeks in Mount Shasta and the recent "You Are Galactic" conference held in Sedona, Adria opens episode 7 with a raw exploration of what she calls the "natural cycles of death and new" we experience on the spiritual path. But this isn't about trauma healing or shadow work—it's about something more subtle and, perhaps, more difficult.

When Growth Means Letting Go of What's Working
"I was actually feeling quite enamored of my old self and where I am in my life," Adria shares, describing how she felt "galvanized and in service and in alignment" before her Mount Shasta journey. The surprise? Her experiences there asked her to leave that version behind anyway.
This is the paradox she unpacks throughout the episode: "There is a really natural part that I think we don't talk about a lot, that in order to grow and up level in whatever way we want to, we need to let go of some older versions, parts of ourself."
Using the analogy of college graduation, Adria paints a vivid picture of this transition. You've focused entirely on final exams and completion, achieved your success, earned your degree—and yet you're leaving behind the friends, the house, the entire world you've known for four years. "You're not going to stay in college for all of your life just because you're so good at it," she explains.

What Lives in the Space Between?
The most striking element of Adria's teaching in this episode is her willingness to sit in not-knowing. "I feel in my energy that I'm new, but it's so tender and vulnerable because I don't have a map for it yet," she admits. "I don't really know in which ways I'm new."
For those on the conscious path, this vulnerability might feel familiar—and uncomfortable. We're conditioned to have the next step planned, to know where we're going. But Adria suggests there's something important about honoring the completion itself, the conscious death to what was, before rushing to define what's next.
"It was the first time when I really felt so consciously that I could die to a part of myself and know that was a good thing," she shares. "And it wasn't leaving behind because there was a less than or a trauma that needed to be left behind."

Why Does Mastery Require Death?
Perhaps the most profound question raised in this episode is one Adria poses implicitly: if we're conscious seekers who reach places of mastery, why must we keep stepping into the unknown? Why can't we rest in what we've achieved?
"For most of us, when we're conscious on this path, even when we get to places of mastery in certain elements, there's a time to continue to learn something new, to step into a different part of ourselves," she explains.
This isn't about the trauma work Adria has explored with recent guests—that remains important. But this episode addresses what comes after: the evolution available when we're ready to release even our most aligned selves to become something we can't yet imagine.
The episode is live and interactive, with Adria noting that "if your questions take us in that direction, the angels can talk about death if we want to today."
